Police Launch Investigation After 20-Year-Old Favour Agbro Allegedly Took Her Own Life Following Assault Claims

A popular content creator based in Asaba, Delta State, has been arrested by the police over allegations of raping a 20-year-old woman, Favour Agbro, who was later reported to have died by suicide.
According to activist Comrade Israel Joe, Favour Agbro, an indigene of Ughelli North Local Government Area, allegedly travelled to Asaba after the content creator promised to train her on how to monetise TikTok and Facebook pages and grow her social media presence.
The activist alleged that upon her arrival, the suspect lured her into a hotel room under the guise of conducting the training, where he allegedly sexually assaulted her despite her objections. He claimed the victim had informed the suspect before the meeting that she was not interested in any romantic or sexual relationship.
Israel Joe further alleged that after the incident, Favour contacted her twin sister and mother, who sent her transport fare to return to Warri. He said she later reported the matter but became distraught after allegedly receiving discouraging responses about pursuing justice.
According to the activist, Favour subsequently consumed a poisonous substance and died. He also claimed that the suspect later attempted to seek an out-of-court settlement after his arrest.
The Delta State Police Command has reportedly taken the suspect into custody, and investigations into the allegations are ongoing.
The allegations remain under police investigation, and the suspect is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
