Ilaji, Ibadan, Oyo State — The 58th birthday celebration of Chief (Engr.) Jubril Dotun Sanusi, the Okanlomo Oodua, has turned into a major political gathering, as thousands of supporters converged on Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resorts for an event tagged Tinubu Day, expressing support for President Bola Tinubu, Senator Sharafadeen Alli and other All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates in Oyo State.
The gathering attracted political leaders, traditional rulers, traders, artisans, labour unions, religious groups, political associations and community representatives.

Addressing the crowd, Sanusi urged voters in Oyo State to support Tinubu, Alli and other APC candidates, insisting that the state needed leaders who would remain accountable to the people and fulfil their promises.
He accused the governor he supported during the 2023 governorship election of betraying their trust, warning against a repeat of what he described as a disappointing political experience at the national level.
Sanusi also expressed confidence that Tinubu would improve on his performance in Oyo State during the next presidential election. He recalled that the President secured approximately 60 per cent of the votes cast in the state in 2023 and predicted that he could obtain more than 80 per cent in the next election.

The Okanlomo Oodua further endorsed Senator Sharafadeen Alli, describing him as experienced, tested and a man of integrity.
He called on voters to use their ballots to hold political leaders accountable, declaring that the power to determine the state’s political future rested with the electorate.
The turnout was particularly notable amid reports that commercial drivers had been directed not to convey people to the venue. Attendees reportedly made alternative transport arrangements to participate in the celebration.

Among the dignitaries present were Senator Sharafadeen Alli, Chief (Mrs.) Hannah Ogunesan, Hon. Akin Alabi, Chief Mutalubi Ojo, Mogaji Abass Oloko, Hon. Bosun Oladele, Asiwaju Mutiu Oladejo, Asiwaju Yemi Aderibigbe, Hon. Ayodeji Abass-Aleshinloye, Chief Shina Alabi and Tunji Olanipekun.
The event combined a birthday celebration with political mobilisation, as Sanusi called on Oyo voters to support Tinubu, Alli and other APC candidates in upcoming elections.
