ADC Governorship Candidate Pidomson Rejects Coalition Politics, Promises Unity and Inclusive Leadership
The governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Rivers State, Gabriel Pidomson, has dismissed the much-discussed Rainbow Coalition, describing it as “an illusion that fades away quickly” and insisting it has no place in the political future of the state.
Pidomson made the remarks while reacting to comments by former Rivers State Governor and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, amid increasing political activities ahead of the next governorship election.
According to the ADC candidate, Rivers State belongs to its people and should not be controlled or defined by any political coalition.
«”Rainbow is an illusion that fades away quickly and so shall it be in Rivers State. Rivers State belongs to its people, not to any coalition,” Pidomson said.»
He stressed that his political ambition is centred on uniting the people of Rivers State rather than promoting division or political dominance.
«”Our mission is not to consume anyone, but to unite everyone, restore hope, and build a state where every citizen has a place,” he added.»
Pidomson said his campaign is driven by a vision of people-centred governance, reconciliation and inclusive development, promising to create opportunities that will benefit all residents irrespective of political affiliation.
He maintained that his goal is not to seize power for personal or group interests but to build a prosperous Rivers State where every citizen can thrive in an atmosphere of peace, equity and shared progress.
His comments come at a time of heightened political realignments in Rivers State, with political parties and alliances intensifying preparations ahead of the next governorship election.
Political observers believe the coming months will witness increased campaigns, coalition-building and policy debates as aspirants seek to win the confidence of Rivers voters.
