House Leader Congratulates Andrew Ijegbai, Urges Supporters to Unite for APC’s Victory

The Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Prof. Julius O. Ihonvbere, has called on members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Owan Federal Constituency, Edo State, to put the outcome of the party’s House of Representatives primary election behind them and work together for the success of the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a statement dated July 10, 2026, and released by his Chief Press Secretary, Samson Akhanieme, Ihonvbere said that following extensive consultations with party leaders and stakeholders, it was time to move forward in the interest of peace, unity and progress.
Although he maintained that he remained convinced he did not lose the May 15, 2026, primary election, Ihonvbere said he had accepted the final decision of the APC National Working Committee in the overriding interest of the party and democracy.
He congratulated Hon. Andrew Ijegbai, who emerged from the primary process as the APC House of Representatives candidate for Owan Federal Constituency, and called on party members to give him and all APC candidates their full support in the forthcoming elections.
The House Leader urged his supporters, friends and party faithful to remain calm, ignore provocations, reject violence and set aside all grievances, stressing that the collective success of the APC is more important than individual disappointment.
He expressed confidence that unity within the party would strengthen the APC, advance the development of Edo State and contribute meaningfully to national progress.
Ihonvbere also thanked party members for their loyalty, sacrifices and unwavering support, encouraging them to remain committed to the party’s victory.
