DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi Visits Former Office at Force Headquarters in Abuja

ABUJA, FCT – The Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations at the Delta State Police Command, DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has paid a visit to his former office at the Force Headquarters of the Nigeria Police Force in Abuja, where he met with the Force Public Relations Officer and other police officers.

Adejobi disclosed the visit in a message shared after the meeting, explaining that he used the opportunity to discuss various issues with the officers, offer prayers and wish them well.

Describing the visit as a brief stopover on the seventh floor of the Force Headquarters, the senior police officer also expressed appreciation to colleagues and well-wishers who welcomed him and showed him affection during his stay in Abuja.

“At the FHQ Abuja with the Force PRO, and some officers. We discussed issues. I prayed for him and wished him well. Just a stopover on the 7th Floor,” Adejobi said.

He added, “Thanks to you all for showing me love in Abuja. Ese oo. Mo dupe oo. Ire oo.”

From Force PRO to Deputy Commissioner of Police

Adejobi is a former Force Public Relations Officer who served as the public face of the Nigeria Police Force for more than three years, becoming widely known for communicating police activities, announcing operational developments and responding to issues concerning policing and public safety.

He was appointed acting Force Public Relations Officer on February 16, 2022, succeeding then Commissioner of Police Frank Mba, who proceeded on a course at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies in Kuru, Plateau State.

His appointment was subsequently confirmed by former Inspector-General of Police Usman Alkali Baba in April 2022.

Adejobi’s tenure as Force PRO coincided with his career progression within the police hierarchy. He initially assumed the position as a Chief Superintendent of Police before his promotion to Assistant Commissioner of Police in 2023.

In August 2025, the Police Service Commission approved his elevation from Assistant Commissioner of Police to Deputy Commissioner of Police. He was decorated with his new rank on August 5, 2025.

Following the promotion, the Inspector-General of Police approved his redeployment from the Force Headquarters in Abuja to the Delta State Police Command in September 2025.

He was posted as Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, a role that involves coordinating operational activities and supporting security efforts across the state.

The redeployment marked the end of his tenure as Force PRO and the beginning of a new phase in his policing career, with greater operational responsibilities at the state command.

A return to familiar surroundings

Adejobi’s latest visit to the Force Headquarters brought him back to an office where he spent a significant period of his career managing police communications and engaging with the media on behalf of the Nigeria Police Force.

His expression of gratitude to officers and well-wishers highlights the relationships he maintained during his time at the national headquarters.

Although he now serves in Delta State, the visit provided an opportunity to reconnect with colleagues and exchange views on issues of mutual interest.

IBN News notes that Adejobi’s progression from CSP to ACP and subsequently DCP took place during his service as Force Public Relations Officer, before his redeployment to the Delta State Police Command as DCP Operations.

His latest visit was described by the officer himself as a brief stopover, with no further details disclosed about the issues discussed during the meeting.
