Political heavyweights unite in Ubima as dignitaries pay final respects to Rotimi Amaechi’s late mother
Former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi and his wife, Dame Judith Amaechi, were among prominent Nigerians who gathered at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, Ubima, for the funeral service of the late Dame Mary Orduah Amaechi.
The funeral brought together political leaders and dignitaries from across Nigeria, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, his wife Chief (Mrs.) Titi Atiku Abubakar, former Vice President Professor Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, and former Senate President and ADC National Chairman Senator David Mark.
The gathering provided an opportunity for political leaders from different backgrounds to set aside political differences and join the Amaechi family in mourning and honouring the deceased.
Dame Mary Orduah Amaechi was laid to rest in her community of Ubima, Rivers State, with family members, friends, political associates and well-wishers attending the funeral service.
The presence of Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Professor Osinbajo, Senator David Mark and other distinguished leaders further underscored the significance of the occasion.
The dignitaries offered their condolences to Rotimi Amaechi and the entire Amaechi family as they bid farewell to their beloved mother and family matriarch.
The funeral service was marked by prayers, tributes and solemn moments as relatives and friends remembered the life and legacy of the late Dame Mary Orduah Amaechi.
