ABUJA, Nigeria — A support group backing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, BAT-KOHrrect, has announced plans to distribute food items and essential relief materials to 1,000 vulnerable families in selected communities across Nigeria.
The group disclosed the planned humanitarian outreach in a statement signed by its National Coordinator, Victor Ganzallo, to mark the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, observed annually on October 17.
According to the group, the initiative is intended to complement the Federal Government’s poverty alleviation efforts by providing support to families facing economic hardship.
BAT-KOHrrect described the planned distribution as a demonstration of collective responsibility in addressing poverty and supporting vulnerable members of society.
The group also commended President Tinubu’s economic policies, arguing that the administration had taken difficult decisions aimed at achieving long-term economic growth despite the challenges facing Nigerians.
It cited social investment programmes, conditional cash transfers, the presidential palliative programme, wage awards, the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation, agricultural investments and support for small businesses as measures it said were intended to improve livelihoods.
BAT-KOHrrect urged Nigerians to remain patient with the administration’s economic reforms, acknowledging that eradicating poverty would require sustained efforts and cooperation.

The group described itself as a grassroots socio-political movement and citizens’ support network focused on mobilising support for Tinubu’s administration, promoting civic education, media advocacy, youth and women’s empowerment, humanitarian service and good governance.
It said the planned intervention for 1,000 families reflected its commitment to humanitarian assistance, while stressing that poverty reduction required consistent action and collective participation.
The group did not specify the distribution date or identify the communities where the food items and relief materials would be delivered.
