The Anambra State Police Command has arrested a 36-year-old woman, identified as Anulika Onyeanusia, over an alleged case of child pornography following a police investigation triggered by a disturbing video reportedly involving the exploitation of a minor.

The police said the suspect was arrested on the evening of September 10, 2026, following open-source intelligence concerning a trending video allegedly showing a woman using sex toys on a minor.

The operation, according to the police, also led to the rescue of four children aged two, three, six and nine years, respectively.

Sex toys and other items considered relevant to the ongoing investigation were also recovered during the operation.

The suspect is currently in police custody as the command intensifies its investigation into the circumstances surrounding the alleged offence and the possible involvement of other persons.

Police said the husband of the suspect is also undergoing interrogation to determine whether he has any connection with the alleged offence.

The Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, CP Nnanna Oji Ama, described the alleged act as disturbing and unacceptable, particularly because it allegedly involved the exploitation and abuse of children who are incapable of protecting themselves.

The police commissioner has consequently directed a thorough and professional investigation into the matter while ensuring that the rescued children receive appropriate care and protection.

The Anambra State Police Command said that beyond the investigation and possible prosecution of those found culpable, its priority remained the safety, dignity and wellbeing of the rescued children.

The command said it would work with appropriate child-protection and other relevant support agencies to ensure that the children receive the necessary care, protection, counselling and other support required for their recovery.

Police also assured that the identities and privacy of the children would be protected throughout the process and that they would be treated with compassion and sensitivity.

The command commended vigilante operatives in the area, as well as bloggers and residents who provided information that assisted the investigation and led to the arrest of the suspect.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the Anambra State Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the development in a statement issued on September 10, 2026.

IBN News reports that the case has triggered fresh concerns over the protection of children from exploitation and abuse, with the police assuring that a thorough investigation is underway to establish the full circumstances surrounding the alleged offence and identify anyone who may have been involved.
