Lawmakers, council chairmen and party stakeholders meet in Esan constituency as Okojie calls for cohesion and grassroots mobilisation

BENIN CITY, Nigeria — The member representing Esan North East/Esan South East Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Prince Henry Odianosen Okojie, has called on All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders and stakeholders in the constituency to strengthen party unity and intensify grassroots engagement ahead of the 2027 elections.

Okojie made the call during a strategic stakeholders’ meeting with APC leaders, party executives and elected council chairmen from Esan North East and Esan South East Local Government Areas.
The meeting focused on party cohesion, voter engagement and grassroots mobilisation as the APC begins preparations for the 2027 electoral cycle.

Okojie urged party leaders to put aside personal differences, address internal grievances and work collectively to strengthen the party’s structures across the constituency.
He also called for a ward-by-ward and polling-unit-level engagement strategy aimed at increasing interaction with voters, expanding party participation and communicating the party’s programmes and achievements to the electorate.

According to him, campaigns should focus on issues, policies and measurable achievements while maintaining constructive political engagement.
Party stakeholders who spoke at the meeting reaffirmed their commitment to the APC and pledged to work for the party’s candidates across the various levels of the 2027 elections.

They also pledged to take the party’s campaign message to communities across Esan North East and Esan South East.

Okojie, an APC member representing the constituency in the 10th National Assembly, currently serves as Chairman of the House Committee on Petroleum Resources (Midstream)

The meeting comes as political parties and candidates intensify preparations for the 2027 general elections, with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) having commenced the formal electoral planning process.
The APC stakeholders said they would continue working at the grassroots to strengthen the party’s structures and voter engagement ahead of the polls.
