Activist Calls for Police Investigation as Officer Faces Allegations of Domestic Violence, Sexual Abuse and Non-Consensual Distribution of Private Images
By IBN News
A serving Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) attached to the Delta State Police Command has been accused of domestic violence, sexual abuse and the alleged non-consensual distribution of his wife’s intimate videos and photographs.
The allegations were made by Delta-based activist and human rights advocate, Comrade Israel Joe, who claimed the officer had subjected his wife to years of abuse and had circulated her private images to family members, school groups and other contacts following a marital dispute.
According to the activist, the couple have been married for over two decades and have three children. He alleged that the officer routinely recorded their intimate moments and later distributed the videos without the woman’s consent after disagreements arose in the marriage.

The activist further claimed the woman reported the matter to the Area Commander in Ughelli, where the officer is said to be serving. He alleged that the commander intervened in an attempt to resolve the dispute and reportedly ordered the deletion of numerous intimate videos found on the officer’s mobile phone.
Comrade Israel Joe also alleged that the woman has expressed suicidal thoughts due to the emotional trauma caused by the alleged actions and appealed to the Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, to ensure a thorough investigation and appropriate disciplinary action if the allegations are substantiated.
The allegations include claims of domestic violence and sexual assault within the marriage. These are allegations made by the activist and have not been established in court.
As of the time of filing this report, the Delta State Police Command had not issued an official statement on the allegations, while the accused officer had not publicly responded to the claims.
IBN News could not independently verify the allegations at the time of publication and will continue to monitor developments. The report will be updated if the Delta State Police Command or the accused officer issues an official response.
